School District money covers only a portion of the Choral Program’s yearly expenses, but giving students a rich variety of musical experiences requires us to go above and beyond the basics. Below are just some of the expenses we must cover:
- Accompanists for all choirs
- Purchase of new music
- Auditorium use fees
- Guest clinicians
- Concert recordings
- Guest musicians
- Transportation to competitions and festivals
- Registration fees for competitions and festivals
- Program equipment (risers, accoustic shells, etc.)
Here are some ways you can help us cover these expenses.
Each student is charged a $25 choral fee to help with the program expenses. Although this is not a mandatory fee, each student is encouraged to help if at all possible. If you have any questions, please contact Meghan Eldred at email@example.com or call 517.668.3216.
Poinsettia Sales – Each year, the Choral Program sells poinsettias prior to the Christmas Holiday season as a fundraiser. The sale usually begins in early November and lasts approximately 2-3 weeks. The poinsettia are delivered in time to decorate the stage during the Holiday concert and then picked up by or delivered to the purchasers after the concert.
“Month of Winning” Calendar Raffle – Each Spring, the DVMB sells a monthly calendar which lists daily prizes that have been donated by parents and local businesses. A calendar purchaser is randomly drawn each day and wins the prize listed for that day. Look for announcements on this website on how to donate prizes or purchase a calendar.

Parents, families and businesses are encouraged to support the Choral Program through our Sponsorship program which combines a charitable donation and a variety of benefits to the sponsor. There are are a number of different levels of support available.
